Recent Announcement Concerning True Value Hardware

With the recent announcement about True Value, we have gotten a few questions asking about our local Union Grove Lumber /True Value.

Here is a direct message from Scott Maier -

Chamber Members and Union Grove and surrounding residents,

I am sending this announcement [email] out to clarify what is happening with our True Value Hardware Line. We were notified on Monday that True Value was going into chapter 11 and was in legation with another hardware chain called Do It Best Hardware. Do It Best Hardware is looking to purchase True Value, its Inventory, Operations and Debt. During this time we were told that they may continue to operate True Value and Do It Best as separate hardware stores and chains. So, business as usual.

Union Grove Lumber is NOT owned by True Value, We are an Independent Lumber Yard and ESOP owned company that handles True Value Hardware line, we also handle many other product lines as well, for example Andersen Windows, Therma-Tru Doors, Trex Decking, Western Building Products, ETC.

Union Grove Lumber has been around since 1872 and we don't plan on going anywhere. As far as our hardware choices, we are operating as usual and will continue to serve our customers as normal. In the future we don't know for sure what hardware choice will be the best for UG Lumber, True Value, Do It Best, Orgill, LBM, or even Ace. We are awaiting information as they work through this process.
