The Crescent Nicholson rectangular double/single-cut handy files with American pattern are great for shaping, finishing, and sharpening. The single-cut grade on one side allow you to sharpen and smooth metal surfaces, while the double-cut on the reverse side can be used for general filing and rapid stock removal. File's length is measured exclusive of the handle.
